Casa Flora’s Spikemoss “Jori”
Selaginella martinsii Jori
This new spikemoss was given to Casa Flora by a Florida fern expert who found it in his fern garden about three months after a hurricane. None of his fellow fern society members have been able to identify it. It forms a more fluffy loose growth and is excellent in baskets in summer shade and it should be over wintered in the home. Do not let it dry out. Its tips turn white when it gets cool. We have identified it as “Jori”, now used as a Christmas plant in Europe and Canada.
