Dryopteris filix-mas 'Parsley'
Parsley male fern (Dryopteris filix-mas ‘Parsley’), like its parent, readily establishes in lightly-shaded gardens. It produces a flourish of wrinkled overlapping pinnae that terminate in modest crests. With its unique silhouette it is eminently suited for formal fern gardens.
At 18″ to 24″ this fern is much lower than the parent-type plant and is a useful conversation piece for the border’s foreground. The deciduous fronds are sturdy and tough and do well in sites in Zone 4 and higher.
